You’ve always worked full-time apart from when you took the maternity leave, haven’t you?

Yes.

Mm.

I don’t think working part-time is at all attractive for a scientist, because it’s very hard to do it on a part-time level. There’s so much of your own emotional buy-in to your work, so you’d end up probably doing the same job for less money. And that’s certainly the experience of colleagues who have gone part-time. It’s very hard to apply that structure to science.
