Support from friends and family
Interview excerpt: The emotional labour of getting through a day at work meant Verity relied on the practical and emotional support her husband provided.
And I would need my husband to give me lifts home from work regularly, because I just couldn't get myself home. And he'd have to do all the chores at home - the cooking, the washing. And I would just spend all weekend asleep. And colleagues don't see you lying on the sofa, unable to make dinner because you've given all your energy to work.
