About the project

The aim of the Disability Narratives project was to identify, share and promote good practice on supporting staff with a long term condition or disability.

Staff talked about a range of issues, including what support was helpful and why, telling colleagues about their condition, and what advice they would give to line managers or other people who are newly disabled.

This project was funded by the Vice Chancellor’s Diversity Fund and the van Houten Fund and supported by the Nuffield Department of Primary Care Health Sciences and the Equality and Diversity Unit. To find out more about equality and diversity at Oxford, visit www.admin.ox.ac.uk/eop.

The grant holders are Sara Ryan and Caroline Moughton. John MacArtney conducted the interviews and analysed the data with Sara Ryan.

We should like to thank the people who took part in the interviews, and also Rebecca Surender and Catherine Walter who introduce the website, and our steering group.
